Formula:
Oxitocin 10 U.I.; excipient q.s. ad 1 mL.

Indications:
It is used to accelerate the expulsion of fetus (one or more), and after birth, it promotes the expulsion of placenta and the involution of uterus. Due to its effect on myoepithelial cells around alveolus of udder, it stimulates and increases the secretion of milk. Indications: intensification of contractions at the moment of birth. Puerperal atony of uterus. Placenta retention. Post parturition hemorrhage. Uterus prolapsus. Post parturition agalactia. Treatment of mastitis.

Dosage y administration:
Intramuscular or slow intravenous, at a rate of 1 mL/50 Kg of body weight, ruminants: once a day; equines: twice a day. Minor animals: 0.25 mL-0.5 mL/5 Kg, once or twice a day.
